Cleaning up your files
Information to help you clean up your files before your migration can be found below. For common questions and answers, visit the relevant section in the IU Box retirement FAQ:Organize your files before your migration
Managing IU’s most sensitive information
As part of the Box retirement migration, both Microsoft storage and Google enterprise storage will be available for restricted data and critical data with the exception of credit card and Payment Card Industry (PCI) data.
Stay tuned for more information about when these environments will be ready for this type of institutional data. Pre-approved solutions (similar to Box Health and Box Entrusted) are being evaluated.
For details, see About dedicated file storage services and IT services with storage components appropriate for sensitive institutional data, including research data containing protected health information.
Do you know who has access to what?
As you review your Box files, it’s important to know which permissions you have given colleagues and people outside of IU. For a breakdown of the permission levels, see Understanding Collaborator Permission Levels.
Preserving IU history
Some of your files may be useful in documenting the history of IU.
Email University Archives to walk through the records you have, what you no longer need, and what might be appropriate for transfer to your campus archives.
